I found a few, and ended up buying one for about $16CND on Amazon. I wanted to get rid of that by finding a USB to RS232 cable with the RJ11 end. Hey Jerry There are cables and adapters to convert USB to RS232, and yes, you can use the RS232 to RJ11 that Meade gave you when you purchased a DSI, or you got one with your scope.
Meade autostar ii serial#
I was hoping to get rid of the old 507 serial port to RS232 plug and its connection to a USB to serial port plug. In the meantime, I went back to my old cable connections and the scope is still working and will still connect to all of the above mentioned programs but not with the new purchased cable. I hope someone can advise me on what needs to be done. I have scanned over several of the blog comments on Silabs Lab's web site but cannot find out what I am missing or doing wrong.

I have changed the properties of the comport’s “Bits per second” rate to various rates and made sure the Com number was correct and still do not get a connection to the hand controller. However, I cannot get my Meade LX200GPS, that uses a AutoStar II hand controller, to connect to the AutoStar Update, AutoStar Suite nor to Stellarium programs.
Meade autostar ii drivers#
I downloaded drivers from the Silabs Lab web site and finally got the drivers installed. I have been to Meade's web site and have all the updated software and drivers.

My computer uses Windows 10 and is a 64-bit computer. I purchased in Dec 2020 the, "Meade LX200 GPS AUTOSTAR II Telescope Control Cable CP2102 Chip PC RS232 Serial RJ11 RJ12 6P4C Upgrade Console Cable" off Amazon.
